Essential Qualification
M.Sc. in Marine Biology / Marine Biotechnology / Microbiology / Biochemistry.
Desirable Qualification
Experience in seaweed cultivation, marine field sampling, laboratory work / Diving certificate
Monthly emolument
(a) Rs. 31000/- + HRA for those candidates who have qualified CSIR/UGC/ICAR/ICMR NET incl. lectureship / Assistant Professorship or GATE OR those who qualified National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments like DBT/DST or equivalent and/or their Agencies and Institutions.
(b) Rs. 25000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (a) above.
Age limit
35 years (Relaxation in age as per CSIR norms)
Duration: This post is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The engagement of a project staff in different projects either in the CSIR - Central Salt & Marine Chemicals Research Institute, Bhavnagar or different Lab./Instt. of CSIR taken together shall not exceed 06 years in any case. It would, therefore,
not confer any right/claim implicit or explicit for any candidate for claiming extension or absorption in CSIR-CSMCRI, Bhavnagar.
Interview Details: Interested candidates should submit the application form, along with the required documents, via email (
[email protected]) on or before 19.08.2026. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an online interview via Microsoft Teams/Google Meet. The date, time, and meeting link for the interview will be communicated to the shortlisted candidates through email.
Required Documents: Candidates should email the duly filled application form, recent passport-size photograph, copies of educational certificates and mark sheets, proof of date of birth, GATE/NET score card (if applicable), experience certificates (if any - must clearly indicate the duration of experience, place of work, and position held. Contractual work experience will not be considered as part of experience), community certificate (if any), and NOC (if applicable) to

Terms & Conditions:
- The decision of the Director, CSIR-CSMCRI, in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of applications, mode of selection, conduct of interview,
cancellation of advertisement, etc., will be final and binding on the candidates, and no inquiry or correspondence will be entertained in this connection from any individual, person, or agency.

Therefore, candidates are advised to keep visiting the website of CSIR-CSMCRI regularly.
- The number of vacancies is provisional and may vary. The Director, CSIR-CSMCRI reserves the right to cancel all or part of the advertised vacancies at any stage of the recruitment process without giving any reason thereof.
- Age relaxation for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/Women categories shall be as per Government of India/CSIR instructions issued from time to time.
- In case of Universities/Institutes awarding CGPA/SGPA/OGPA Grades etc., candidates are requested to convert the same into percentage based on the formula as per their University/Institute and attach accordingly.
- If it is found at any stage of the process or thereafter that the candidate does not fulfill the eligibility criteria their candidature shall be cancelled without assigning any reason whatsoever.
- Experience certificates must clearly indicate the duration of experience, place of work, and position held. Contractual work experience will not be considered as part of the experience.
