Job Title: Head – Security

Department: Security & Safety
Reports To: CEO / Hospital Administrator / COO / Management
Preferred Candidate: Ex-Serviceman / Ex-Defence Personnel
Experience: 10–20 years in security, defence, hospital, institutional or large-campus security operations

Job Purpose

To lead and manage the overall security, safety, access control, emergency preparedness and security discipline of the hospital and medical college campus, ensuring the safety of patients, doctors, employees, students, visitors, assets and infrastructure.

Key Job Responsibilities

- Overall Security Management
- Take overall responsibility for security of the hospital, medical college, hostels, parking areas, stores and other premises.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive hospital security plan.
- Ensure 24×7 security coverage through proper deployment and shift management.
- Conduct regular security inspections and identify vulnerabilities.
- Security Team Management
- Supervise Security Officers, Supervisors, Guards, Bouncers and outsourced security personnel.
- Prepare duty rosters and deployment plans.
- Maintain discipline, punctuality, grooming and professional conduct of security staff.
- Conduct regular briefings, parades and security drills.
- Access Control
- Control entry and exit of employees, doctors, students, patients, attendants, vendors and visitors.
- Implement appropriate visitor-pass and vehicle-entry systems.
- Monitor restricted and sensitive areas such as ICU, OT, pharmacy, stores, server rooms, cash areas and medical-record sections.
- Prevent unauthorized access and movement.
- CCTV & Surveillance
- Supervise the hospital's CCTV surveillance system.
- Ensure cameras are operational and critical areas are adequately covered.
- Establish procedures for monitoring, recording and retrieval of CCTV footage.
- Investigate suspicious activities using CCTV and other available evidence.
- Emergency & Crisis Management
- Develop emergency response procedures for:
- Fire
- Theft
- Violence
- Bomb threat
- Unauthorized entry
- Missing persons/children
- Crowd disturbance
- Natural disasters
- Medical emergencies
- Coordinate with police, fire services and other emergency agencies when required.
- Conduct periodic mock drills.




- Hospital-Specific Security
- Maintain security in Emergency/Casualty, ICU, OT, maternity, wards and other sensitive areas.
- Manage crowd and attendant movement during emergency situations.
- Prevent unauthorized photography/video recording where prohibited.
- Handle disputes involving patients, attendants, visitors and staff in coordination with hospital administration.
- Provide security during VIP visits, medico-legal cases and high-risk situations.
- Asset & Property Protection
- Protect hospital buildings, equipment, medicines, stores, vehicles and other assets.
- Monitor movement of materials through gates.
- Ensure proper gate-pass procedures for material and equipment movement.
- Coordinate with Stores, Purchase and Administration regarding suspicious or unauthorized movement.
- Incident Investigation & Reporting
- Investigate security incidents, theft, loss, misconduct, unauthorized entry and other violations.
- Prepare incident reports for management.
- Maintain records of security incidents, visitor entries, vehicle movements and investigations.
- Recommend preventive and corrective measures.
- Coordination with Police & Government Agencies
- Maintain professional liaison with local Police, Fire Department and other authorities.
- Coordinate during emergencies, criminal incidents, VIP movements and law-and-order situations.
- Ensure appropriate documentation and timely reporting of serious incidents.
- Security SOPs & Policies
- Develop and implement Security SOPs covering:
- Gate control
- Visitor management
- Vehicle management
- CCTV monitoring
- Emergency response
- Theft prevention
- Incident reporting
- Fire evacuation
- Crowd control
- VIP security
- Material movement
- Periodically review and improve security procedures.
- Training & Drills
- Train security personnel in:
- Access control
- Crowd management




- Emergency response
- Fire safety
- First aid/basic emergency response
- Conflict management
- Communication and reporting
- Patient/visitor handling
- Conduct regular mock drills and security exercises.
- Vendor & Contract Security Management
- Monitor outsourced security agencies and their manpower deployment.
- Verify attendance and deployment of guards.
- Ensure compliance with contractual manpower requirements.
- Verify licences, training and statutory documentation of security agencies, as applicable.
- Review security agency performance and recommend corrective action.
- Fire & Safety Coordination
- Coordinate with the Fire & Safety/Engineering team for fire prevention and emergency preparedness.
- Ensure unobstructed emergency exits and access routes.
- Participate in fire and disaster-management drills.
- Support evacuation and crowd control during emergencies.
- Parking & Traffic Management
- Manage hospital parking and traffic movement.
- Ensure designated parking for ambulances, doctors, patients and visitors.
- Prevent unauthorized parking and traffic congestion.
- Maintain clear access for ambulances and emergency vehicles.
- Security Budget & Resources
- Prepare security manpower and equipment requirements.
- Recommend requirements for CCTV, access-control systems, communication equipment, barriers, metal detectors and other security infrastructure.
- Monitor security-related expenditure within the approved budget.

Preferred Candidate Profile

Ex-Serviceman is preferred, particularly candidates from:

- Indian Army
- Indian Navy
- Indian Air Force
- Central Armed Police Forces / other uniformed services

Preferred qualities:

- Strong leadership and command ability
- Excellent discipline and alertness
- Crisis-management capability
- Experience managing large security teams
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Knowledge of security systems and CCTV
- Experience in hospital/institutional security is an advantage
- Physically fit and capable of working in shifts/emergency situations

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
