Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and technically skilled Senior Solar Technician to handle solar PV installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and service activities. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring quality installations, resolving technical issues, and guiding junior technicians at project sites.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and supervise solar PV installation and maintenance activities at residential and commercial sites.
- Install and commission solar panels, inverters, batteries, mounting structures, and related electrical components.
- Perform DC and AC wiring, cable termination, earthing, and system connections.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to solar panels, inverters, batteries, wiring, and system performance.
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance of solar PV systems.
- Carry out testing and commissioning using appropriate electrical testing equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical diagrams, wiring diagrams, and solar system layouts.
- Conduct site inspections and identify technical requirements before installation.
- Ensure installations comply with safety, quality, and company standards.
- Monitor system performance and identify generation or equipment-related issues.
- Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, customers, and project teams to resolve technical issues.
- Maintain service reports, installation records, checklists,



and other technical documentation.
- Guide and train junior technicians and installation team members.
- Ensure proper use of tools, equipment, PPE, and safety procedures at site.
- Travel to customer/project locations as required.

Requirements

- ITI / Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, or a related technical field.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in solar PV installation, maintenance, or O&M.;
- Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, inverters, batteries, electrical wiring, and protection systems.
- Hands-on experience in installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Ability to work at heights and in outdoor/site conditions.
- Good knowledge of electrical safety practices and PPE.
- Ability to use tools such as multimeter, clamp meter, insulation tester, and other testing equipment.
- Valuable problem-solving and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel to customer and project sites.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with on-grid, off-grid, and hybrid solar systems.
- Knowledge of different inverter and battery systems.
- Experience in rooftop solar installations.
- Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Team-handling and leadership skills.
- Valid driving licence is an added advantage.
