Job Description

A reputed hospital in Vadodara is looking for a proactive and organised Purchase Executive to manage day-to-day purchasing activities and ensure the timely availability of medical, pharmaceutical, surgical and general supplies required for smooth hospital operations.

The ideal candidate should have at least 1 year of experience in hospital purchasing/procurement and valuable knowledge of vendor coordination, purchase orders, inventory requirements and cost-effective procurement.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day purchasing activities for the hospital.
- Procure medical supplies, surgical items, consumables, equipment and general materials as per requirements.
- Coordinate with hospital departments to understand their purchase requirements.
- Source and evaluate vendors based on quality, price, availability and delivery timelines.
- Obtain quotations and negotiate prices and commercial terms with suppliers.
- Prepare and process purchase orders.
- Follow up with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Maintain proper purchase records, quotations, purchase orders and invoices.
- Coordinate with the Stores/Inventory team regarding stock requirements and deliveries.




- Monitor stock levels and initiate purchase requests to avoid shortages.
- Verify received materials against purchase orders and invoices.
- Develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Assist in identifying cost-saving and efficient procurement opportunities.
- Ensure procurement activities follow hospital policies and procedures.

Eligibility & Skills

- Any Graduate from a recognised institution.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in the hospital industry is required.
- Experience in hospital purchase/procurement will be preferred.
- Knowledge of medical consumables, surgical items, hospital supplies and general procurement will be an advantage.
- Good negotiation and vendor-management skills.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and basic computer applications.
- Strong organisational and follow-up skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment.
- Valuable attention to detail and cost-conscious approach.

Salary

₹15,000 – ₹25,000 CTC per month

Salary will depend on the candidate's experience, hospital procurement knowledge and relevant skills.
