Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Accounts Manager to manage and oversee accounting, finance, taxation, billing, vendor payments, project-wise accounts, and financial reporting for our electrical infrastructure and EPC projects.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience in project accounting, GST, TDS, vendor reconciliation, client billing, project expenses, statutory compliance, and MIS reporting. Experience in electrical, EPC, infrastructure, construction, or contracting companies will be preferred.
The candidate will work closely with the Project, Procurement, Stores, Commercial, and Management teams to ensure accurate financial control and timely reporting across projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Accounting & Financial Control
- Maintain project-wise books of accounts and financial records.
- Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets and BOQ values.
- Track project receivables, payables, advances, retention money, and deductions.
- Monitor project profitability and identify cost overruns or unusual expenses.
- Ensure proper accounting of material, labour, subcontractor, transportation, and site expenses.
- Maintain project-wise ledgers and cost centres.
2. Client Billing & Receivables
- Coordinate with the Project and Commercial teams for preparation and submission of client bills.
- Verify RA Bills, running bills, final bills, debit notes, credit notes, and other commercial documents.
- Track bill submission, certification, deductions, and payment status.
- Maintain an updated Project Receivables Ageing Report.
- Follow up on outstanding payments with the concerned project and client teams.
- Reconcile client accounts and resolve discrepancies.
3. Vendor & Subcontractor Accounts
- Manage vendor and subcontractor ledgers.
- Verify invoices against Purchase Orders, Work Orders, GRNs, measurement sheets, and supporting documents.
- Process vendor payments as per approved payment terms.
- Maintain vendor ageing and outstanding reports.
- Conduct regular vendor reconciliation.
- Monitor advances issued to vendors and subcontractors and ensure timely adjustment.
4. GST, TDS & Statutory Compliance
- Ensure timely and accurate GST accounting and reconciliation.
- Coordinate preparation and filing of GST returns with the tax consultant/CA.
- Verify GST input credits and reconcile them with GSTR-2B.
- Ensure proper TDS deduction, accounting, reconciliation, and filing.
- Maintain records required for statutory audits and tax assessments.
- Coordinate with CA, auditors, tax consultants, and statutory authorities whenever required.
6. Payroll & Employee Expenses
- Coordinate with HR for monthly payroll processing.
- Verify salary-related accounting entries.
- Process employee reimbursements, travel expenses, and site expenses.
- Maintain employee advances and their settlements.
- Ensure proper statutory deductions from salaries wherever applicable.
7. MIS & Management Reporting
Prepare and submit regular MIS reports including:
- Project-wise Profit & Loss
- Project Cost Statement
- Receivables Ageing
- Payables Ageing
- Vendor Outstanding
- Client Outstanding
- Cash Flow Statement
- Bank Position
- GST & TDS Status
- Project Expense Report
- Budget vs Actual
- Material Purchase and Consumption Summary
- Advance Outstanding Report
- Subcontractor Payment Status
8. Audit & Compliance
- Coordinate internal and statutory audits.
- Maintain proper accounting records and supporting documents.
- Ensure compliance with company accounting policies.
- Support management during financial reviews and audits.
- Identify accounting discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial controls.
- Positive understanding of GST, TDS, Income Tax, and statutory compliance.
- Experience in project accounting and cost control.
- Robust knowledge of accounts payable and receivable.
- Excellent vendor and client reconciliation skills.
- Good understanding of billing and commercial processes.
- Strong Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and financial reporting.
- Experience with accounting software such as Tally Prime, ERP, SAP, or similar systems.
- Ability to analyse project financial data.
- Robust communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.

Experience with RA Bills, BOQ-based projects, retention money, EMD/security deposits, performance guarantees, price variation, subcontractor billing, and government department payments will be an advantage.
Educational Qualification
Required:
- B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter / MBA Finance or equivalent qualification.
Preferred:
- CA Inter / CMA Inter
- Professional accounting or taxation certification
Experience
5–10 years of relevant experience, preferably with at least 3 years in an EPC, electrical infrastructure, construction, or project-based company.

The Accounts Manager will be responsible for:
- Timely and accurate project accounting

- Timely vendor reconciliation and payments
- Accurate GST/TDS compliance
