Position: Area Sales Manager – Modern Trade & General Trade (MT/GT)

Location: Bangalore & Delhi NCR

About The Role:

The Area Sales Manager (ASM) will be responsible for driving sales growth, expanding distribution,managing Modern Trade and General Trade channels, strengthening distributor relationships, and ensuring superior market execution across the assigned territory. The role requires a strong understanding of FMCG retail sales, key account management, distributor operations, and execution excellence.The incumbent will play a key role in accelerating the growth packaged products portfolio including Waffle Crisps, Spreads, Dessert Pre-mixes and future retail innovations.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales & Business Development -

 Deliver monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets for the assigned territory.

 Drive primary and secondary sales growth across MT and GT channels.

 Develop territory-wise business plans to achieve volume and revenue objectives.

 Identify new business opportunities and market expansion initiatives.

 Monitor sales performance and implement corrective actions to close gaps.

Modern Trade Management -

 Manage relationships with key modern trade accounts.





 Lead annual and quarterly Joint Business Planning (JBP) discussions.

 Negotiate commercial terms, promotions, visibility and category initiatives.

 Ensure timely listing of current products and expansion of SKU presence.

 Track account-wise profitability and ROI on trade investments.

General Trade Development -

 Expand numeric and weighted distribution.

 Strengthen distributor network and retail coverage.

 Drive outlet productivity and market penetration.

 Increase availability across key retail formats.

 Monitor beat efficiency and route-to-market effectiveness.

Distributor Management -

 Appoint and develop capable distributors within the territory.

 Ensure healthy stock levels and inventory management.

 Manage distributor ROI and profitability.

 Review claims, outstanding payments and commercial compliance.

 Conduct monthly business reviews with distributors.
