We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Buyer and Expeditor to join our team in the Oil & Gas sector. This role is crucial for ensuring efficient procurement processes and timely delivery of materials and equipment.
Responsibilities
As a Buyer and Expeditor, your key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting efforts to maintain the Approved Vendor List.
- Recommending suppliers for qualification and disqualification.
- Monitoring supplier performance and reporting results.
- Achieving results in line with budget and project timelines.
- Developing and implementing sourcing strategies leading to the qualification of recent suppliers.
- Contributing to cost, delivery time, and risk reduction in projects while maintaining the required quality.
- Negotiating and implementing Memoranda of Understanding (MOU), Rate Contracts, or Frame Agreements.
- Preparing Commercial Bid Analyses considering Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
- Developing long-term relationships with suppliers to meet customer expectations.
- Floating Requests for Quotations (RFQs), evaluating bid tabs, and issuing purchase orders for non-lead equipment.
- Defining, in collaboration with Project Management, project-specific vendor lists for proposal and project execution.
- Negotiating directly with suppliers.
- Ensuring contract requirements and specifications are fulfilled.
- Ensuring the timely receipt of Engineering Documents from vendors.
- Ensuring the validation of vendor progress reports.
- Ensuring monthly collection of Percentage of Completion (PoC) from suppliers.
- Verifying the authenticity of manufacturing schedules from suppliers and validating vendor progress reports.
- Monitoring non-conformities during fabrication and ensuring resolution through coordination with project inspection coordinators.
- Having the authority to halt fabrication in case of major non-conformance and to forbid the delivery of non-conforming equipment.
- Ensuring the traceability, security, and confidentiality of data and documents.
- Identifying and managing potential claims and/or Liquidated Damages (LD) applications towards suppliers.
Qualifications & Competencies
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and competencies:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred.
- A Management Degree in Procurement/Supply Chain Management/Global Sourcing is an additional advantage.
- 5 - 10 years of Project Management, Engineering, or Procurement experience in a mid-sized multinational EPC Company.
Technical Skills:
- Exposure to ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle, or any other standard ERPs, will be an additional advantage.
- MS Office proficiency will be an additional advantage.
Language Proficiency:
- Fluent in English and Hindi.
