nJob Summary: A Neurology Medical Coder is responsible for reviewing medical records related to neurological disorders and procedures and assigning accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and modifier codes for billing, reimbursement, and compliance purposes. The coder ensures that all coding is completed according to healthcare regulations, payer guidelines, and industry standards

- Proficiency in coding software and MS Office applications.n

nKey Responsibilities

- Review and analyze neurology patient records, physician notes, operative reports, diagnostic reports and code accurately as per the documentation.n
- Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes, CPT procedure codes, and HCPCS codes, modifiers, and units.n
- Should be aware of LCD, MUE, and all the conventions of CPTs and ICDs.n
- Should be aware of neurology-specific proceduresn
- Maintain coding accuracy and productivity standards.n
- Participate in coding audits and quality reviews.n
- Stay updated on coding guideline changes and neurology-related reimbursement policies.n
