Job DescriptionOVERVIEW
nTeachers are appointed by the Head of School with input from the Governing Board. Each teacher is responsible for the education of the students in their class(es). In addition, it is the role of each teacher to be sure that all students are protected, secure and properly supervised at all times. All teachers employed by the school have professional responsibilities to their students, to themselves, to the institution, to their colleagues and to the wider school community.
nEXPECTATIONS
nAs an educational professional working in a K-12 international school, it is expected that a teacher will:
ndemonstrate an explicit commitment to the philosophy, mission, vision and values of the school as determined by the Governing Board:
n● establish and maintain an appropriate social, emotional, physical, and intellectual learning workplace in which all students may succeed;
n● have a thorough and age-appropriate knowledge and understanding of skills and subjects taught;
n● use an appropriate variety of instructional and assessment practices and techniques;




n● work collaboratively and constructively with colleagues;
n● respect and treat all community members equitably and exhibit and model a respect for the culture, languages, beliefs and people of the school's host country, India;
n● contribute to school life beyond classroom teaching;
n● communicate effectively and respect confidentiality;
n● take full advantage of professional development opportunities;
n● be familiar with the operational practices and expectations of the school;
n● keep abreast of relevant educational developments and research;
n● adhere to the school policies and guidelines published in the Faculty Handbook, contract and elsewhere
nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
nThe duties and responsibilities of a teacher include:
n● ensuring the safety and wellbeing of students;
n● developing the content of courses in relation to the school's philosophy, objectives and appropriate IBO
