The
Assurance & Accounting vertical at MNP Canada offers audit, review, and
financial reporting services designed to enhance the credibility, accuracy, and
compliance of financial information. They provide tailored support across
industries such as agriculture, energy, and the public sector, helping
organizations navigate complex standards like IFRS and ASPE. Beyond compliance,
the team delivers strategic insights to support informed decision-making and
long-term financial health, ensuring clients meet both regulatory requirements
and business goals with confidence.

General Position Summary:

Make an impact supporting MNP Assurance &
Accounting vertical.
This diverse team of professionals provides exceptional people-focused support,

Responsibilities:





- Conduct review and audit engagements

- Develop and apply knowledge of International
Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Accounting Standards for Private
Enterprises (ASPE), Accounting Standards for Not-for-Profit Organizations
(ASNPO), and/or Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS)

- Develop an understanding of MNP’s audit and
review methodology

- Develop and apply knowledge of Canadian Auditing
Standards and Canadian Standards on Review Engagements

- Manage preparation of multiple audits and review
files simultaneously. Depending on the size and complexity of the entity,
either preparing end to end or as part of the preparation team

- Summarize clients’ current financial status by
collecting information and preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statements,
and other relevant reports

- Assess and assure appropriateness of audit
evidence for expenses, revenues, capital asset additions, accounts payable,
accounts receivable, and prepaid expenses

- Review,
investigate, and correct discrepancies and irregularities in financial entries,
documents, and reports

- Establish
charts of accounts and prepare entries for posting to accounts

- Categorize financial data for utilization of
data analytics and prepare related client deliverables

- Build competencies in data analytics reporting




and identification of opportunities for relevant client advisory services

- Prepare
correspondence, technical reports, client summaries, and presentations
outlining engagement findings, facts, and highlights

- Develop effective working relationships with
clients while coaching and mentoring junior team members

- Identify possible areas of improvement to
internal processes and technologies and collaborate with other internal teams on
solutions

- Participate in business development initiatives and
identify new business opportunities.

Requirements

Skills -

- Ability and willingness to develop a strong
understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Accounting
Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE), Accounting Standards for
Not-for-Profit Organizations (ASNPO), and Public Sector Accounting Standards
(PSAS)

- Experience working with accounting software

- Ability and willingness to develop a solid
understanding of Canadian Auditing Standards and Canadian Standards on Review
Engagements

- Understanding of business, accounting,
management, and practice development principles

- Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies,
tools, and software

- Understanding of the fundamentals of data
analytics

- Strong written English language skills

- Customer service and/or client service
experience is considered an asset

Educational
Qualifications –

- Bachelor/Master’s
degree in Commerce

- Masters
or Diploma in Business Administration or Accounting or equivalent experience

Certification - Completion of, or
working towards, prerequisites for pursuing a CPA designation or Masters or
Diploma in Business Administration or Accounting
