Job Responsibilities



Analyst - Policy Engagements is an opportunity for committed
young professionals to work closely with Hon'ble Members of Parliament (MPs) on
clean air, lead exposure, and allied issues. The role will focus on driving
policy interventions at the national level while creating state and
district -level impact through evidence -based research, data analysis and
knowledge exchange, legislative support and multi -stakeholder engagement. The
position requires exceptional research, analytical, communication, coordination,
multitasking, and problem -solving skills.



Key Responsibilities



Research, Legislative & Programme Support



- Conduct evidence -based primary and
secondary research on air pollution, lead exposure, and allied policy issues to
develop policy briefs, research papers, knowledge products, and expert
briefings on national and state policies and programs, government schemes,
sectoral challenges, and emerging innovations and best practices. Take expert
consultations where necessary.

- Provide analytical and legislative
support to Hon'ble MPs for parliamentary interventions, Bills, Standing
Committee meetings, parliamentary debates, and other policy priorities by
identifying key policy gaps, opportunities, and specific solutions aligned with
Swaniti's development approach.

- Support programme implementation
through field visits, stakeholder engagement, public -facing events, and
coordination with local government, civil society, think tanks, and other
stakeholders at the national and sub -national levels. This includes participating
in relevant meetings, supporting the review of clean air and lead exposure
through DISHA Committee meetings, identifying intervention areas, strengthening
local capacity, and contributing to programme deliverables and targets,
evidence -based policymaking and knowledge exchange.


Stakeholder Engagement:


- Engage with diverse stakeholders to
gather insights, facilitate knowledge exchange, and support evidence -based
policy making through stakeholder consultations, primary outreach, and
research.


Documentation & Reporting:


- Prepare high -quality reports, policy
briefs, knowledge products, and administrative documents - including policy
recommendations, impact assessments, and success stories on relevant policy
issues. Ensure they are well researched, factually accurate, and presented in
internally standardized and accessible formats.

- Actively contributes to
communication initiatives, including content development, social media
engagement,



and public outreach to amplify policy insights and organizational
impact.


Desirable Domain Expertise:

- Knowledge of India’s climate and
energy policy landscape, including national and sub -national frameworks related
to heavy metals, air quality, energy transition, decarbonization, and
sustainable development, with an understanding of their intersections with
economic development, public health, social equity, and industrial policy.

- Familiarity with key regulatory
instruments, government schemes, and institutional mechanisms shaping the
energy transition ecosystem, including transport electrification, renewable
energy adoption, industrial decarbonization, and climate finance.

- Familiarity with India's lead
exposure and environmental health landscape, including national and
sub -national policies, regulatory frameworks, government programmes, and
institutional mechanisms related to lead poisoning prevention, environmental
and occupational exposure, child and maternal health, and evidence -based
approaches for lead risk reduction and mitigation.

- Strong understanding of the
structure and functioning of Union and State governments, including
administrative, parliamentary hierarchies, and inter -governmental coordination
mechanisms.




Requirements

Education:


- Postgraduate degree in Environmental
Science, Energy Studies, Climate Change, Economics, Public Policy, Political
Science, Law, Development Studies, Sustainability, or a related field.


Experience:


- A minimum of 1.5 years of full -time,
post -graduate professional experience in public policy, governance,
environmental studies, sustainability, or related domains.

- Preference will be given to
candidates with prior experience working with government officials or elected
representatives.

- Exposure to heavy metals, air
pollution, energy transition and decarbonisation is highly desirable.

- Engagement with multi -stakeholder
ecosystems, including government departments, industry bodies, think tanks, and




civil society organizations working on heavy metals, climate and energy -related
issues.


Technical Skills:


- Strong research and analytical
skills, with the ability to conduct primary and secondary research, analyse
data, and develop clear, actionable policy insights and recommendations from
diverse technical and policy sources.

- Familiarity with data visualization
tools, and effective knowledge dissemination using standard policy advocacy
tools and strategies.

- Excellent written and verbal
communication skills, with experience engaging professionally with government
officials, MPs, civil society, and grassroots stakeholders.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

- Proficiency in visual storytelling,
including but not limited to Canva.

- Familiarity with government
databases and public information sources.

policy matters, including responsiveness to urgent requests.

critical policy issues, including climate change, air and heavy metal
pollution, social protection, governance, and sustainable development.

- Qualified reliability,
punctuality, and strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and
as part of a team.

Note: This role requires a high level of
commitment and may occasionally require working beyond regular office hours and
on weekends. The position is based out of the office of a Hon'ble Member of
Parliament (MP).
