Job DescriptionPosition Summary
nThe Senior Lecturer is responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, clinical training, patient care, research, and academic administration in the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery or Orthodontics. The role involves mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate students, contributing to research and publications, and supporting institutional accreditation and quality initiatives while ensuring compliance with the National Dental Commission (NDC) norms.
nKey Responsibilities
n1. Teaching & Academic Responsibilities

- n
- Deliver lectures, tutorials, seminars, and practical demonstrations for BDS and MDS students.n
- Develop lesson plans, teaching materials, and clinical case discussions.n
- Conduct pre-clinical and clinical demonstrations.n
- Guide students in diagnosis, treatment planning, and patient management.n
- Prepare question papers, evaluate answer scripts, and conduct practical and viva examinations.n
- Mentor students in academic and clinical competencies.n

- Diagnose and manage oral and maxillofacial surgical conditions.n
- Perform routine oral surgical procedures including:n
- Surgical extraction of impacted teethn
- Minor oral surgeriesn
- Management of maxillofacial infectionsn
- Pre-prosthetic surgical proceduresn
- Biopsy proceduresn
- Trauma management (under supervision where applicable)n
- Maintain detailed clinical records and documentation.n
- Supervise interns and postgraduate clinical work.n

nFor Orthodontics

- Diagnose malocclusion and craniofacial abnormalities.n
- Prepare orthodontic treatment plans.n
- Perform and supervise:n
- Fixed orthodontic therapyn
- Removable appliance therapyn
- Functional appliance therapyn
- Preventive and interceptive orthodonticsn
- Retention proceduresn
- Monitor treatment progress and patient outcomes.n
- Guide students in clinical case management.n
