Role
The Senior Accounts & Finance Executive is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of day-to-day financial transactions across all three of the client’s trading entities. The role owns the transactional integrity of the purchase ledger, sales ledger and bank reconciliations, and provides the underlying data quality on which management reporting, job costing and statutory compliance depend.
The postholder is expected to work with limited supervision, to own a defined monthly close calendar end to end, to identify and escalate control weaknesses rather than simply process transactions, and in due course to review the work of junior colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable / Purchase Ledger
• Process supplier invoices and credit notes through operations software into Xero, ensuring correct entity, VAT treatment, nominal code and tracking category coding.
• Match supplier invoices to purchase orders and job numbers raised in Operational software, and escalate unmatched or unallocated cost to the Finance Manager.
• Reconcile supplier statements to the Xero purchase ledger on a monthly cycle, investigating and clearing differences with suppliers and internal budget holders.
