- Deliver lectures, seminars, demonstrations, and clinical teaching for BDS and MDS students.n
- Supervise and mentor undergraduate and postgraduate students during clinical postings.n
- Develop lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessment tools.n
- Conduct internal assessments, practical examinations, and viva voce.n
- Guide dissertations, research projects, and case presentations for postgraduate students (as per NDC norms).n
- Participate in curriculum planning, academic audits, and accreditation activities.n

n2. Clinical Responsibilities

- Diagnose and manage patients independently in the specialty.n
- Perform advanced clinical procedures in accordance with specialty protocols.n
- Supervise postgraduate and undergraduate clinical work.n
- Maintain accurate patient records and treatment documentation.n
- Ensure infection control, sterilization, and patient safety standards.n

nSpecialty-Specific Responsibilities
nA. Reader – Periodontology

- n




- Diagnose and manage periodontal diseases and peri-implant conditions.n
- Perform scaling, root planing, flap surgeries, regenerative procedures, mucogingival surgeries, crown lengthening, and periodontal plastic surgeries.n
- Carry out implant planning, placement (where applicable), and maintenance.n
- Manage periodontal emergencies and interdisciplinary periodontal care.n
- Conduct maintenance therapy and preventive periodontal programs.n
- Guide postgraduate students in periodontal surgical procedures and implantology.n

nB. Reader – Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

- n
- Diagnose and treat oral and maxillofacial diseases, trauma, and surgical conditions.n
- Perform routine and advanced exodontia, impacted tooth surgeries, pre-prosthetic surgeries, minor oral surgical procedures, biopsies, and cyst enucleations.n
- Assist and perform maxillofacial trauma management, orthognathic surgery, TMJ procedures, and reconstruct
