Position Title- Assistant Manager - Human Resources
Department- Human Resources
Reporting To- Head - Human Resources
Position Summary
The Assistant Manager - Human Resources is responsible for supporting the Head - Human Resources in implementing HR and Industrial Relations strategies that foster a productive work environment, enhance employee engagement, ensure statutory compliance, and contribute to organizational profitability and guest satisfaction. The role involves managing employee relations, recruitment, welfare initiatives, statutory compliance, training coordination, and HR administration across the hotel.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resource Management
- Assist the Head - HR in planning and reviewing manpower requirements across departments.
- Coordinate recruitment, selection, onboarding, and employee induction processes.
- Maintain and update employee personnel records and files.
- Implement HR policies, procedures, and employee welfare initiatives.
- Recommend improvements to HR practices that enhance employee morale and organizational effectiveness.
- Support performance management, promotion, increment, and disciplinary processes.
Industrial Relations & Employee Engagement
- Maintain positive employee relations and a healthy work environment.
- Act as a liaison between management, employees, unions, and labor representatives.
- Participate in Industrial Relations meetings and address employee concerns.
- Visit employees during illness and represent management during significant personal occasions.
- Promote employee welfare, engagement, and motivation programs.
Statutory Compliance
- Administer statutory benefits including:
- Employee State Insurance (ESI)
- Provident Fund (PF)
- Gratuity
- Superannuation Schemes
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and statutory regulations.
- Maintain updated knowledge of labor legislation and relevant amendments.
- Coordinate with labor offices, health departments, and local authorities as required.
HR Operations & Administration
- Manage employee attendance and leave management systems.
- Ensure timely submission of attendance records for payroll processing.
- Monitor employee working conditions with focus on:
- Safety
- Hygiene
- Sanitation
- Ventilation
- Employee well-being
- Coordinate employee transportation facilities as per company policy.
- Collaborate with cafeteria services to ensure quality, nutritious, and hygienic meals for employees.

Educational Qualifications
- MBA / PGDM in Human Resources Management
- Master's Degree in Human Resources, Personnel Management, Labour Welfare, or related discipline preferred
Experience
- 5-8 years of experience in Human Resources, preferably within the hospitality industry.
- Exposure to Industrial Relations, employee engagement, statutory compliance, and recruitment processes.
- Experience handling labor law compliance and employee welfare initiatives.
Language Requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Knowledge of local language(s) preferred.
