Job Purpose
The HR Manager will serve as the central Human Resources business partner for the organization's Corporate Office, Manufacturing Plant, R&D; Centre, and Uganda operations. The incumbent will act as the single point of contact (SPOC) for management on all HR matters across these locations and will ensure consistent implementation of HR strategies, policies, systems, and people practices.
The role will have functional oversight of the HR teams at the Plant and R&D; Centre, driving organizational effectiveness, talent management, employee engagement, compliance, and HR governance across all business locations.
Role & responsibilities
1. HR Business Partnership
- Act as the primary HR partner for Management across Corporate, Plant, R&D;, and Uganda operations.
- Translate business objectives into effective HR initiatives.
- Advise management on organization structure, workforce planning, succession planning, and manpower optimization.
- Support strategic decision-making through HR analytics and workforce insights.
2. HR Operations & Governance
- Ensure uniform implementation of HR policies and procedures across all locations.
- Monitor employee lifecycle processes including recruitment, onboarding, confirmation, transfers, promotions, and separations etc
- Review and standardize HR documentation, SOPs, and compliance processes.
- Drive process improvements and HR automation initiatives.
3. Leadership of Multi-location HR Teams
- Provide functional leadership and guidance to HR teams at the Manufacturing Plant and R&D; Centre.
- Review HR deliverables, priorities,
and timelines.
- Conduct periodic HR reviews with location HR representatives.
- Build capability and accountability within the HR team.
4. Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Oversee recruitment activities for all business locations.
- Ensure timely closure of critical positions.
- Build talent pipelines for key and leadership roles.
- Coordinate with business heads on manpower planning and budgeting.
5. Performance Management
- Drive the performance management cycle across all locations.
- Ensure timely goal setting, performance reviews, normalization, and appraisal completion.
- Partner with business leaders on performance improvement initiatives.
6. Employee Relations & Engagement
- Foster a positive employee relations climate.
- Handle employee grievances and disciplinary matters in consultation with management.
- Drive engagement initiatives, communication programs, and organizational culture initiatives.
7. Learning & Development
- Identify organizational capability gaps.
- Develop annual learning and development plans.
- Coordinate leadership development, technical, behavioral, and compliance training programs.
- Monitor training effectiveness.
8. Compensation & Perks
- Support salary benchmarking, annual increments, promotions, and compensation reviews.
- Ensure consistency in compensation philosophy across locations.
- Review payroll inputs and statutory compliance where applicable.
9. Compliance & Statutory Matters
- Ensure adherence to applicable labour laws and employment regulations.
- Coordinate statutory audits and compliance reviews.
- Monitor implementation of company policies and disciplinary procedures.
- Support HR due diligence during audits and inspections.
10. HR Analytics & MIS
- Prepare and present HR dashboards and management reports.
- Recommend action plans based on data insights.
11. International HR Coordination
- Coordinate HR activities for Uganda operations.
- Support expatriate documentation, mobility, compensation coordination, and employee relations.

Educational Qualification
- MBA in HR
- Additional certification in Labour Laws or HR Analytics will be an advantage.
Experience
- 812 years of progressive HR experience.
- Minimum 3–5 years in a managerial role.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical industry is mandatory.
- Experience managing multi-location HR operations is preferred.
