Job Description -AWS Engineer
Position: AWS Engineer
Location: Electronic City, Bangalore
Reports To: Manager
Shift: India Shift
Employment Type: Full-Time
About the Role
We are looking for a skilled AWS Cloud Engineer to design, implement, manage, and optimize cloud infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS). The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with AWS services, infrastructure automation, security best practices, and cloud monitoring.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Multi-Environment Management (Dev / QA / Prod):
- Design, provision, and maintain isolated, highly available environments for Dev, QA, and Production to ensure smooth application promotion cycles.
- Enforce strict security, compliance, and access controls tailored to lower environments vs. production workloads.
1. Server & OS Administration (Linux & Windows):
- Provision, configure, patch, and maintain Amazon EC2 fleets running both Linux (Ubuntu/Amazon Linux) and Windows Server.
- Administer core server dependencies, user access, security hardening, and software workloads (e.g., Apache Kafka on Ubuntu, Windows-native applications, or SQL tools).
1. CI/CD & Automation (GitLab):
- Build, optimize, and maintain automated multi-stage GitLab CI/CD pipelines (. gitlab-ci.yml) for building and deploying frontend (S3/CloudFront) and backend (ECS Fargate/Lambda/EC2) applications across Dev, QA, and Prod.
- Implement automated environment promotion, artifact management, and environment-specific configuration variables.
1. Monitoring, Observability & Logging:
- Build and manage Grafana dashboards to monitor infrastructure metrics, application health, and custom KPIs across all environments.
- Maintain centralized logging pipelines aggregating VPC Flow Logs, ALB Logs, CloudTrail, WAF, and CloudWatch logs.
1. Core AWS Architecture & Security:
- Maintain multi-VPC architecture (Application, Database, Analytics) with VPC Peering, AWS WAF, CloudFront, and ALBs.
- Manage containerized microservices on Amazon ECS Fargate, serverless workflows with AWS Lambda & API Gateway, Amazon RDS for MSSQL, DynamoDB, Redshift, Cognito, and Secrets Manager.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Environment Lifecycle Management: Hands-on experience architecting and managing promotional pipelines across Dev, QA, and Production environments.
- OS & Compute Administration: Strong background managing both Linux (Ubuntu) and Windows Server instances on Amazon EC2 (patching, security, performance tuning).
- CI/CD & Version Control: Expertise in writing complex GitLab CI/CD pipelines (.gitlab-ci.yml) targeting multi-setting deployments.
- Observability: Solid experience setting up Grafana dashboards, metrics aggregation, and alert management.
- AWS & Infrastructure as Code: Strong experience with AWS core services (ECS Fargate, Lambda, RDS MSSQL, SQS, CloudFront, WAF) and provisioning via Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Messaging & Data: Experience supporting message systems like Apache Kafka on Linux EC2 and Amazon SQS.
Preferred Qualifications:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer -Professional. (Good to Have)
- Experience with Windows PowerShell scripting and Linux Bash scripting for system administration.
- Experience implementing OIDC authentication between GitLab CI/CD and AWS IAM.
