About the Role

As a Chapter Lead, this is an exciting leadership role that combines people leadership with technical expertise within the NZ Technology domain. You will play a key role in cultivating a high-performing team culture and driving the growth and development of team members to build a world-class practice.

You will maintain a strong focus on strategic workforce planning, ensuring team members have the support and guidance needed to deliver on their missions.

The role spans both people leadership and delivery, involving contributions to technology initiatives, driving innovation, uplifting technical capability, and establishing standards and principles across the Chapter while not being embedded within a delivery team.

What will your day look like

- A proven record in managing and mentoring teams, with a commitment to building team capabilities and fostering a positive, inclusive culture.
- Hands-on technical experience and a can-do approach towards Development, Automation and managing continuous improvement.
- Design and implement new patterns to achieve capability uplift and continuous improvement of our platforms
- Ability to code, script, perform design and code reviews and be involved with design discussions about architecture, data models and business logic
- Experience in solving application-level design problems that result in robust systems
- Passionate about coaching, mentoring,



and developing others by providing technical guidance and leadership
- Obsessed with software engineering excellence, current methodologies, and leading change
- Open to explore, experiment and implement new technologies and tools
- Experience working in cross functional, Agile, and continuous delivery approaches
- Strong attention to detail and demonstrates problem solving capability to develop and deliver quality applications that delight customers

- Deliver Well Managed Solutions: Coordinate projects, manage risks and changes, and execute complex plans effectively.

What will you bring

- Minimum 14+ years of relevant experience, with significant engineering leadership exposure, including identifying, mentoring, and developing talent within large, enterprise-scale organizations.
- Must have a minimum of 12 years of engineering experience, preferably in one or more of the following areas: 1. iOS / Android Development 2. Java Development 3. Node.js Development 4. Integration Development
- Extensive experience working in large enterprise globally distributed systems and be able to work with operations and architecture groups developing scalable and supportable applications.
- Expert in one or multiple programming languages and frameworks including Java, J2EE (JSP, Servlets),



Struts, Spring, Web technologies including XML applications.
- Expert in one or more database technologies such as SQL Server, Oracle, and Postgres.
- Proven experience in CI/CD and DevOps practices, with hands-on exposure to tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo, and GitHub.
- Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.

Detailed Description

- Proven experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including application deployment and management.
- Expert in designing and implementing complex solutions across multiple application platforms.
- Good Knowledge Enterprise Integration solution design and development.
- Strong understanding of API design, API gateways, Microservices Security principles.
- Experience in delivering Application and Infrastructure uplift program.
- Experience in one or more monitoring/alerting tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, NewRelic and Germain.
- Experience in Incident/Problem management and root cause analysis
- Proven leadership experience in managing and mentoring teams, with strong stakeholder management, deep Agile/Scrum expertise, and the ability to build effective relationships across cross-functional teams in large, geographically diverse organizations while driving continuous improvement.
