The Production Team Leader manages the daily operations of the Painting and Packing line for Higher Horsepower (HHP) engines. This role ensures optimal resource utilization, strict adherence to safety and quality standards, and the continuous development of team associates. The leader drives process improvements, manages inventory, and maintains compliance with the Integrated Management System (IMS).
Role Requirements
Education : BE/ Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
Work Schedule: Rotational two-shift operation. [1, 2]
Key Responsibilities
Production Resource Management
Optimize Resources: Ensure maximum utilization of manpower, machinery, and materials on the shop floor.
ERP Operations: Execute and manage Oracle ERP transitions related to daily production activities.
Inventory Control: Monitor HHP engine inventory levels and manage shop floor material control.
Reporting: Update daily performance metrics and communicate production reports to the Production Planning and Control (PPC) department.
Quality Assurance Process Control
Audit Execution: Conduct, understand, and execute painting process and product audits at workstations.
Defect Troubleshooting: Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve painting defects and production line rejections.
Quality Metrics: Monitor in-house and external parts-per-million (PPM) issues to implement continuous reduction plans.
Data Analysis: Track rejection data periodically using Quality Control (QC) tools and manage daily quality reviews.
Documentation: Identify non-conformities and complete Line Rejection forms for rejected items.
Compliance IMS Maintenance
Operational Alignment: Carry out all shop floor operations in line with Operational Control Procedures (OCPs).
Documentation: Prepare and maintain Integrated Management System (IMS) and Quality Management System (QMS) records.
Audit Support: Coordinate with quality groups during internal and external plant audits.
Risk Analysis: Identify internal/external issues, evaluate interested party needs, and conduct risk analyses.
Corrective Actions: Implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) related to IMS non-conformities.
Workforce Development Continuous Improvement
Skill Development: Train and develop multi-skilled Team Associates to ensure cross-functional flexibility.
Lean Tools: Study and implement contemporary production tools including Lean Production, 5S, and Process Control.
Workplace Safety: Maintain and improve housekeeping, 5S standards, and safe work practices in the designated area.
Workflow Optimization: Coordinate with process improvement teams to implement and enhance shop floor workflows.
