JobPurpose:
AssistantEngineer (Forge Master) is responsible for co-ordinating theforging operations at the 4500T open die forging press, guiding the pressoperator with proper instructions to ensure the jobs are properly forged andfinished to the required sizes. Also responsible for dimensional and shapecontrol of the forgings being processed
KeyResponsibilities:
Manage shift production operationsand controlling the forging team.
Supervise shift manpower working under yourguidance and direct the press operator to achieve the desired dimensional andshape controls.
Shall be accountable for press operations andforging product quality
Assist the press operator as well as shiftsupervisor with identification and traceability of the products that are beingforged complying to the process documents
Co-ordinate with reheating forging furnaceoperations and control the product identification and traceability to avoidgrade mix-up
Ensure timely corrective actions and processimprovements in the press activities.
QualificationsExperience:
Education: Diploma / B.Sc.
Experience: 5-7 years of relevant experience in Open Die Forging Industry
TechnicalExpertise:
Hands on experience offorging alloy steels, heat-resisting steels, high-speed steels, tool diesteels, stainless steels, iron nickel-based superalloys.
To supervise theOpen Die Forging Press activities (min. 2000T capacity) bogie/box typereheating furnaces (min. 10 MT capacity).
Experience in majorforging activities for Aerospace, Defense, Nuclear, Oil Gas applications .
KeySkills Competencies:
Strong knowledge of opendie forging processes and furnace operations.
Ability to read thedrawings and sketches issued for forging processes and control forging shiftoperations effectively.
Assist the productionshift team to ensure the forgings are processed with minimum time delay andcontrol the fuel consumption within established norms of production
Experience in handlingpractical issues during forging processes, managing resources, consumables andshift manpower.
Strong teamwork,communication and problem-solving skills.
Strong focus on safety,quality and continuous improvement in forging process.
