We are looking for a PPC Engineer with experience in the mechanical manufacturing industry.
The candidate will be responsible for production planning, job card/work order processing, material planning, production follow-up, and coordination with various departments.
The candidate should have valuable knowledge of GA Drawings, manufacturing drawings, BOM, routing, and job card preparation/processing. The role requires close coordination with Design, Production, Purchase, Stores, Quality, and Dispatch teams to ensure timely completion of production orders.
- Key Responsibilities
- 1. GA Drawing & Technical Document Understanding:
- Read and understand GA Drawings and manufacturing/fabrication drawings.
- Understand component details, dimensions, specifications, materials, tolerances, and assembly requirements from drawings.
- Review drawings and BOMs before releasing jobs for production.
- Identify manufacturing processes and sequence requirements from drawings.
- Coordinate with Design/Engineering for drawing-related queries, revisions, and clarifications.
- Ensure the latest approved drawing revision is considered for production.
- 2. Job Card Processing
- Prepare and process Job Cards / Work Orders based on approved drawings, BOMs, and production requirements.
- Generate job cards with correct part numbers, descriptions, quantities, materials, operations, and routing.
- Define and maintain operation sequences such as cutting, machining, fabrication, welding, assembly, inspection, etc.
- Release job cards to the concerned production departments.
- Track job card status from release to completion.
- Ensure completed job cards are properly closed and production data is updated in the ERP/MRP system.
- Coordinate with Production and Quality departments for job card completion and inspection status.
- 3. Production Planning:
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on customer requirements and delivery schedules.
- Plan production according to machine capacity, manpower, material availability, and process requirements.
- Prioritize jobs based on customer delivery dates and production urgency.
- Monitor production progress against planned schedules.
- Identify delays and bottlenecks and take corrective action in coordination with the concerned departments.
- 4. Material Planning:
- Check raw material and component availability against BOM and production requirements.
- Coordinate with Purchase and Stores for material availability.
- Prepare material requirements for upcoming production orders.
- Identify material shortages and follow up for timely procurement.
- Monitor WIP and ensure smooth material movement between various operations.
- 5. Production Follow-up:
- Follow up on production jobs on a daily basis.
- Monitor job progress from raw material → cutting → machining/fabrication → inspection → assembly → final inspection → dispatch.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Stores, Purchase, Maintenance, and Dispatch.
- Monitor pending jobs and ensure timely completion.
- Escalate critical production delays to the PPC/Production Manager.
- 6. Google Sheet/ Excel Working:
- Enter and maintain production planning and job card information in the Execl.
- Update work order/job card status regularly.
- Prepare daily production and pending-job reports.
- Maintain records of WIP, material shortages, production status, and delivery commitments.
- Prepare MIS reports for management review.
