Career Area Engineering Your Work Shapes the World at Caterpillar Inc When you join Caterpillar you re joining a global team who cares not just about the work we do - but also about each other We are the makers problem solvers and future world builders who are creating stronger more sustainable communities We don t just talk about progress and innovation here - we make it happen with our customers where we work and live Together we are building a better world so we can all enjoy living in it As a Design Engineer within Retail Electric Power Solutions REPS team of Caterpillar you will be responsible for design and development of diesel gas generator systems and sub-systems You will be integral part of electromechanical design team which work on concepting designing and development of control panel breaker panel exhaust lines air intake fuel systems This role requires to perform job duties covering electrical and mechanical design This position directly impacts Caterpillar s current and future generator products developed for various markets Job Duties Responsibilities may include but are not limited to Design and development of air intake exhaust fuel systems control panel and circuit breaker panels for diesel and gas generator products Perform design calculations structural analysis and electrical mechanical components selection Work with other Design Engineers and Senior Design Engineers to understand design and drawing requirements Create current CAD models and drawings for systems sub-systems assemblies and components using Creo Understand and apply good drawing practice including geometric tolerancing Use knowledge of various manufacturing processes to deliver the solution that meets DFA DFM Provide technical support to quality purchasing during part development Work with business unit SMEs Project leads electrical and mechanical engineers for delivering projects on time Basic Requirements Bachelor s or master s degree in mechanical Mechatronics Automobile Engineering Experience with design and development of electromechanical components Working knowledge of 3D CAD software Creo and PLM software Teamcenter Experience working within multi-disciplinary engineering teams and with suppliers Desired Qualification Communicate technical information effectively with all stakeholders This position requires working onsite five days a week Posting Dates July 29 2025 - August 14 2025 Caterpillar is an Equal Opportunity Employer Qualified applicants of any age are encouraged to apply Not ready to apply Join our
