Key Responsibilities Cost Estimation Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects based on available plans specifications and historical data Tender Preparation Assist in the preparation and submission of tenders including reviewing contract documents and analyzing project requirements Material and Labor Estimation Quantify the materials labor and equipment required for each project phase and calculate associated costs Site Visits Conduct site visits to assess project scope and gain a better understanding of the site conditions identifying any potential risks or cost-saving opportunities Cost Analysis Evaluate historical project data vendor quotes and market trends to ensure cost-effective solutions Collaboration Work closely with the project team including engineers architects and suppliers to gather relevant project details and cost information Risk Management Identify potential risks related to costs resources and schedules and propose strategies to mitigate them Budgeting and Forecasting Monitor project budgets and provide updated estimates throughout the project lifecycle to ensure cost control Reporting Provide detailed reports on cost estimates including any variances from original estimates and recommendations for adjustments Requirements Bachelor s degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering Mechanical Engineering Quantity Surveying Construction Management or a related field Proven experience typically 3-5 years in cost estimation within the construction or engineering industry Strong knowledge of construction methods materials and processes Proficiency in estimation software e g CostX PlanSwift or similar tools Solid understanding of project tendering and procurement processes Excellent analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills Strong communication and negotiation skills Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Preferred Qualifications Certification in Estimation or Quantity Surveying e g RICS AACE Experience with project management software e g Procore Buildertrend Familiarity with building codes regulations and contract law Working Conditions Full-time office-based position with occasional site visits Flexible working hours may be required particularly during project tendering phases Some travel may be required for site inspections or meetings Job Types Full time Permanent Pay 18 253 54 - 35 157 59 per month Benefits Health insurance Paid sick time Schedule Day shift Morning shift Experience total work 3 years Preferred Work Location In person
