Department Details Role Summary Position Systems and Process Biologist Role Summary This is a hybrid role with the Cell Culture Laboratory at Biocon R D Chennai which involves 40 wet-lab work and 60 computational work The selected candidate will be involved in wet-lab experimentation to support Biocon pipeline molecules The remaining 60 of the time will be spent developing cellular metabolic models for cell culture media development and process optimization The candidate is not mandatorily expected to have hands-on experience with wet-lab work in upstream cell culture and these can be taught on-the-job Eagerness to learn new frontiers is essential Key Responsibilities The candidate is expected to possess the following technical functional skills Develop multimodal approaches combining genome-scale metabolic modelling flux analysis etc and experimental data to identify novel process optimization strategies 60 of the time Actively conceive and execute wet-lab experiments with the support of colleagues to identify biomarkers from different platforms that will enhance bioprocesses and help develop recent cell culture media formulations Serve as a subject matter expert in projects requiring metabolic flux analysis and multi-omics Be willing to learn and support the team in developing highly productive cell culture processes suitable for cGMP biotherapeutic manufacturing performing technical transfer and manufacturing support activities 40 of the time Conceive and execute research strategies to significantly improve platform processes and workflows develop new methods build technical expertise and intellectual property and deepen scientific understanding Effectively communicate scientific data and concepts to internal audiences through reports and presentations Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding code of conduct safety documentation and GMP compliance Recording raw data in accordance to good documentation practices Support authoring procedures SOP s IOP s EOP s Coordinate within and across team for smooth functioning of lab activities Educational Qualifications Required Education Qualification MS Required Experience 7 - 15 years
