Position Overview
The IB MYP Mathematics Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality, inquiry-based mathematics instruction aligned with the philosophy and framework of the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme.
The teacher will support students in developing solid conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills while preparing them for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme Mathematics pathways (Analysis & Approaches and Applications & Interpretation).
Key Responsibilities
1. Curriculum Planning
- Plan and implement IB MYP Mathematics units for Grades 6–10.
- Develop unit planners aligned with:
- Key concepts
- Related concepts
- Global contexts
- Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills.
- Align instruction with IB standards and practices.
2. Teaching and Learning
- Deliver engaging and inquiry-based mathematics lessons.
- Develop students’ understanding in areas such as:
- Algebra
- Geometry
- Trigonometry
- Statistics and probability
- Functions
- Mathematical modelling.
- Use differentiated instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
- Integrate technology and real-world applications into mathematics teaching.
3. Assessment and Reporting
- Design assessments aligned with MYP assessment criteria:
