This role is part of Product Development & Operations (PDO), the organization responsible for building and operating the Guidewire Cloud Platform and products that our customers run in production every day. PDO’s FY26 priorities center on secure, scalable, and efficient platform operations, accelerating AI, cloud, and data platform adoption, and ensuring every customer is successful, referenceable, and realizing measurable value.

As a Senior Software Engineer in Platform Engineering, you will help build and evolve the Kubernetes-native, multi-tenant cloud platform (GWCP/Atmos) that underpins hundreds of services and AI-powered capabilities across Guidewire. Your work will directly support PDO’s goals to improve service reliability, enhance security and compliance, and enable new GenAI-powered features that span our product portfolio.
Job Description

What You’ll Do
- Own things end-to-end. Pick up a problem, design the solution, ship it to production, and keep it running. No throwing code over a wall.




- Build core platform components — the kind of infrastructure that hundreds of services depend on. Your code matters at a foundational level.
- Design for elegance under complexity. Workflows, automation, developer tooling — you'll tackle problems where the naive solution doesn't survive contact with production.
- Collaborate across teams on technical designs. We value well-argued RFCs and design docs over top-down mandates.
- Contribute upstream. When open-source tools don't do what we need, we fix them and send PRs — not fork and forget.

What We're Looking For
- 8+ years building and operating systems in SaaS/PaaS environments at enterprise scale
- Deep Kubernetes expertise — not just kubectl apply, but understanding schedulers, controllers, CRDs, networking, and the broader ecosystem
- Solid cloud fundamentals (AWS preferred, Azure/GCP also welcome) — you know the difference between what the cloud gives you and what you have to build yourself
