Location: New Delhi, India

Designation: Programme Lead/Senior Programme Lead

Purpose: CEEW seeks to hire an experienced researcher to develop a programme on the interface of geoengineering, technology and governance. The focus will be on the science and governance of geoengineering interventions.



A scientific perspective on geoengineering emphasises a deep understanding of relevant technologies and interventions, and their implications for global and regional climate. The governance perspective seeks to explore ways to limit large-scale, unilateral geoengineering interventions and to suggest potential architectures for governing them. This role is envisaged as a combination of independent research demonstrating thought leadership and deep engagement with national and international stakeholders through a sustained dialogue.

The objective of this role would be to create and execute a programme with a focus on creating a robust evidence-backed knowledge base to shape and inform the debate on geoengineering, technologies and governance. The role-holder will also seek to contribute to better outcomes through research, dissemination, dialogue, and proactive engagement related to the geoengineering debate. Building a strong team is a key part of this role.
