About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Database Engineer role
In this role, you will:
- Lead or participate in database management activities including designing highly complex logical and physical databases
- Lead highly complex data modeling, mapping, integration, and capacity planning efforts
- Perform the planning, research, design, implementation, maintenance, and control of server class databases
- Consult with and advise management and multiple clients on high impact data or database management issues, influencing strategic direction
- Provide technical leadership and recommendation into the future direction of database technology
- Develop management policies, procedures, standards, and best practices
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals

Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of Database Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:




- Expert-level experience with SQL Server High Availability and Disaster Recovery, including:
- Always On Availability Groups
- Distributed Availability Group (DAG)
- Transactional Replication
- Strong expertise in SQL Server infrastructure, tools, methodologies, and processes
- Hands-on experience with backup and recovery, disaster recovery planning.
- Proven experience in planning and executing successful database migrations, including pre‑migration assessment, data validation, controlled production cutover, and post‑migration verification, ensuring minimal downtime and zero data loss.
- Strong experience with SQL Server performance tuning, execution plan analysis, indexing strategies, and query optimization.
- Robust experience in SQL Server security and compliance, including managing logins, roles, permissions, encryption (TDE), auditing, vulnerability assessments, and ensuring adherence to organizational and regulatory compl
