Responsibilities
To act in a senior technical capacity in producing WSP engineering related project deliverables relating to Primary Engineering for Transmission & Distribution, Renewable (Onshore & Offshore wind/ Solar), BESS projects. This includes (but not limited to):
- Draft proposals and develop scopes, including conceptual designs and execution plans.
- Generate engineering cost and man-hour estimates, as well as schedules.
- Create detailed engineering drawings for Extra High Voltage (EHV) projects, covering both Air Insulated Substations (AIS) and Gas Insulated Substations (GIS), ranging from 11kV up to 400kV (with a particular emphasis on 132kV voltages and above)
- Develop designs to support detailed engineering,
such as Land Utilisation Plan, Elevations, Above and Below Grade Conduit layouts, Grounding layout & it’s connection details, Lighting and Lightning protection with respective details, Bill of Materials, CDM, MEWP layouts and Design Calculations.
- Possess knowledge of Busbar sizing, Sag Tension, and Short Circuit (strung bus and equipment bus) force calculations.
- Facilitate coordination of design activities across various departments, including Civil/Structural, Networks, and Transmission Line. Conduct design reviews, participate in virtual meetings, and collaborate closely with clients.
- Coordinate with team members and monitor project schedules, ensuring submissions meet high-quality standards.
- Produce comprehensive electrical substation design packages that comply with the required client technical standards or IEC/IEEE/NGTS.
