We are looking for a skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer – Product
Design with 5–6 years of experience in product development, preferably in the
metering or electronics manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate should
have strong expertise in SolidWorks, hands-on experience in plastic part
design, and the ability to handle Mold design-related queries in coordination
with tooling vendors and production teams.
The candidate will be responsible for end-to-end mechanical design activities
including concept development, 3D modelling, drawing release, design
validation, and manufacturing support.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for energy meters / electronic products.
- Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks.
- Handle plastic part design considering DFM/DFA principles.
- Address and resolve mould design and tooling-related issues in coordination with mould vendors.
- Support manufacturing during tool trials, pilot runs, and mass production.
- Conduct design reviews, tolerance analysis,



and stack-up analysis.
- Prepare and maintain BOMs, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Perform root cause analysis for mechanical failures and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Electronics, Quality, SCM, Production).
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and company design guidelines.

Requirements
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (Part, Assembly, Drawing, Sheet Metal, Surfacing).
- Valuable understanding of plastic injection moulding processes.
- Experience in product design and development lifecycle.
- Knowledge of GD&T;, tolerances, and fits.
- Hands-on experience with DFMEA, DFM, DFA concepts.
- Ability to interact with tool makers and vendors
- Exposure to prototype development and validation testing.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
