We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Should Costing Engineer with Tear Down Experience for our client at Bangalore Location. The Should Costing Engineer will Independently execute teardown and costing assignments;
develop structured BOMs and robust bottom-up should-cost models. Drive the team, project lead-time adherence, and team productivity. Lead teardown & should-costing programs; validate cost models; review and drive cost-optimization strategy; and engage stakeholders and also Execute task based activities
Key Responsibilities.
- Should-Cost Modeling: Build zero-based cost estimates from the ground up for commodities like casting, machining, injection molding, and electronics.
- Cost Driver Identification: Pinpoint exact design decisions, material selections, or production inefficiencies that drive up product costs
- Supplier Quote Validation: Evaluate and negotiate supplier proposals, identifying deviations between quoted prices and internal "should-cost" targets.
- Cost Optimization & VAVE: Support Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VAVE) initiatives and new product introductions (NPI) to reduce costs while preserving quality.
- Own multiple teardown & costing workstreams
- Review & validate complex cost models
- Drive Design-to-Value (DtV) & VA/VE initiatives
- Lead client/stakeholder discussions
- Develop standardized costing frameworks
- Support negotiation analytics & savings validation
- Team supervision & quality governance
Requirements
- Experience: 3 to 6 years of professional experience in Should Costing with Tear Down Experience.
