Description
The Head – People Business Partner will lead the People Business Partnering function for Universal Sompo General Insurance, overseeing the end‑to‑end people agenda for a workforce of approximately 2,000 employees. The role will act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, translating business priorities into effective people strategies while strengthening culture, organizational effectiveness, leadership capability, and employee engagement in line with General Insurance industry best practices.

Responsibilities
Strategic Business Partnering
- Partner closely with CXOs, Business Heads, and Functional Leaders to align people strategy with business objectives across underwriting, sales, operations, claims, and corporate functions.
- Act as a trusted advisor on organizational design, workforce planning, talent strategy, and change management.

Talent & Leadership Management
- Lead initiatives on leadership development, succession planning, high‑potential identification, and capability building.
- Support leadership teams in driving performance management,



goal setting, and merit cycles.

Employee Relations & Engagement
- Oversee employee relations, grievance handling, disciplinary processes, and ensure consistent application of HR policies.
- Drive employee engagement initiatives aimed at improving retention, productivity, and workplace culture.

Organizational Effectiveness & Change
- Support organization restructuring, role clarity, and workforce optimization initiatives.
- Lead change management initiatives during business transformation, digitization, or restructuring phases.

Governance, Compliance & Policy
- Ensure HR practices are compliant with labour laws, insurance sector regulations, and internal governance standards.
- Partner with COEs (Talent Acquisition, L&D;, Compensation & Perks, HR Operations) to ensure seamless people delivery.

Data, Analytics & Stakeholder Management
- Leverage HR analytics and insights to support decision‑making
