Purpose





CEEW seeks to hire a Senior Program Lead for its Industrial Sustainability (IS) team. The IS team has four broad focus areas – energy transition and industrial decarbonisation; carbon management that includes carbon pricing and CCUS; RD&D; and Innovation; and circular economy. There is an economics perspective associated with each of these areas. We are looking for an experienced macro economist who can guide team members in developing analyses in each of these areas. For example, we want to answer questions such as - what is the impact of energy transition on state economics; how will decarbonisation impact industrial competitiveness; how can the energy transition be made just; what is the impact of energy transition in terms of jobs and growth, and the quality of jobs; what carbon price mechanism is best suited for India and what would be the impact on the GDP from some form of carbon price; and what economic benefits (jobs and value addition) can be achieved through circular eco
