Senior Research Associate (Men’s Mental Health)

- Duration: Fixed Term until 30th June 2027 (possible extension funding dependant)
- Remuneration: $127,947 base (+17% superannuation and a leave loading)

Black Dog Institute
The Black Dog Institute is a Medical Research Institute affiliated with UNSW Sydney, and a global leader in translational mental health research. We are the only medical research institute in Australia that investigates mental health across the lifespan—from childhood to adulthood. This position will work within the Workplace Mental Health Research Program .
The role
This position will conduct independent and cooperative research in Men’s Mental Health and Suicide Prevention to improve understanding of suicide risk, enhance engagement for intervention, and develop evidence-based digital content for men. The position will lead and deliver research projects—including data analysis and modelling—across epidemiological, qualitative, quantitative, and intervention studies, while supporting product rollout, stakeholder collaboration, funding opportunities, and the broader research team. The role reports to a Senior Lecturer at the Black Dog Institute and manages two direct reports.
Key Skills And Experience Required
- PhD in psychology, psychiatry, public health or related discipline, and/ or relevant work experience.
- A track record of significant involvement in mental health or suicide prevention research.
