Your job is to identify, develop and nurture B2B customers for fresh as well as repeat business. Typically, such business has long lead times with large order values. Your task is to gather as much information as possible to ensure PBL’s success in winning such large scale business. You may or may not actually respond to tenders and engage in negotiations, or manage operational aspects of orders won, but you will be actively associated in all these efforts to ensure customer satisfaction.
You must either already know or be able to very quickly learn the road transportation business involving trailers and trucks. You must also know / learn about the road transportation eco-system – brokers, vehicle owners, fleet operations etc. – in order to converse intelligently with prospective customers.
The work will require extensive travel, including to remote areas, for extended periods and you must be prepared for this, physically and mentally. You will need a “can-do” mindset to achieve your goals, be an excellent communicator and have outstanding people skills.
You should be able to converse in multiple languages fluently, especially in English and Hindi.
Our company uses technology a lot and is a nearly paperless organization, so you should be capable of using computers and mobiles on a daily basis.
Requirements
- A good understanding of businesses and business practices – preferably with an MBA degree
- Excellent communication skills - English, Hindi and one or two local languages including Telugu
- Sales, negotiation and people skills
- Proficiency in MS Office, Internet and usage of various software systems such as an ERP, GPS etc. (you will have to pass an MS Office test if shortlisted based on CV)
