Role : Controls Engineer
Shift Timing : 3 PM to 12 PM (IST)
Role Summary:
The Controls Engineer will be responsible for designing, programming, troubleshooting, maintaining and enhancing Power Plant Controller controls code using CODESYS development platform for Utility Scale Solar projects. This role involves understanding current and changing requirements, analyzing the exiting code and converting the functional requirements into the PLC program. The engineer will ensure proper implementation of interlocks, sequencing, and safety mechanisms required for Electrical and Energy Management Systems, while supporting system optimization, commissioning, and long-term maintainability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, commissioning, and operations teams across the system lifecycle, from design through deployment.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of control architecture, coding standards, and system performance.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and modify Power Plant Controller (PPC) controls code using CODESYS platform.
- Implement control sequences, interlocks, alarms, and safety mechanisms for Electrical and Energy Management Systems.
- Perform system testing activities including unit testing, FAT, SAT, and on-site/remote commissioning.
- Troubleshoot field issues to minimize system downtime.
- Integrate PPC with HMI/SCADA.
- Ensure compliance with applicable electrical, safety, and engineering standards.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation including control logic descriptions and test reports.
- Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and software teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to performance, reliability, and maintainability of control systems.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, and product managers, to deliver integrated solutions.
