This role is for a Hardware Applications Manager in the Automotive Body and Chassis Radar business line. The Body and Chassis business line focuses on fast growing and highly visible automotive applications such as in-cabin monitoring, kick-to-open sensing, and door obstacle detection. The Hardware Applications Manager will lead a team responsible for hardware development and customer support, including owning of evaluation kits, reference designs, and ti.com device and application collateral. The manager will be responsible for supporting customers through their entire product lifecycle from the initial engagement process and opportunity exploration, to device evaluation, product development, and quality returns. The manager will also keep track of support activities, monitoring effectiveness and taking action for continuous improvement based on feedback from “engineer-to-engineer” (e2e) forum metrics, quality return cycle time metrics, or direct engagement with field sales and customer partners.
The manager will lead a team of applications engineers, translating business goals and objectives into priorities for the team, and also setting expectations back to the leadership team on activities. It will be the responsibility of the manager to determine how to prioritize planned and incoming support, including customer support, support of R&D;, and activities intended to help create new engagement opportunities in the market.
Developing strategic partnerships, in collaboration with other functions both inside and outside the business line will be important skill for the candidate to demonstrate. This will ensure dependencies are being met to execute on planned development or support activities.
