Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced
Senior SMT Technician to manage and support SMT (Surface Mount Technology)
production lines for PCBA manufacturing. The role involves machine programming,
process optimization, troubleshooting, and ensuring high-quality PCB assembly
output.
The ideal candidate should have
robust hands-on experience in SMT line setup, Pick & Place programming,
defect analysis, and production yield improvement.
Key Responsibilities
SMT Line Operations & Programming
- Program
and operate SMT production line equipment including:
- Pick
& Place machines
- Solder
Paste Printers
- Reflow
Ovens
- AOI
(Automated Optical Inspection) systems
- Create
and optimize Pick & Place programs based on PCB Gerber and BOM data.
- Set
up feeders, nozzle selection, and component library management.
- Perform
line changeover and setup for new product builds.
Process Monitoring & Troubleshooting
- Monitor
SMT line performance and ensure smooth production flow.
- Identify
and resolve production issues such as:
- Misalignment
/ placement errors
- Solder
defects (bridging, tombstoning, insufficient solder)
- Component
shift or missing parts
- Perform
root-cause analysis for recurring defects and implement corrective
actions.
- Support
rework and repair activities when required.
Quality & Yield Improvement
- Ensure
compliance with IPC-A-610 quality standards.
- Work
closely with QA and production teams to improve First Pass Yield (FPY).
- Analyze
defect trends and implement process improvements.
- Conduct
in-process inspection and validation checks.
Maintenance & Support
- Perform
preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting of SMT equipment.
- Coordinate
with OEM/service engineers for machine calibration and repairs.
- Maintain
machine logs, production records, and maintenance reports.
