NHS Golden Jubilee has an exciting prospect for a Clinical Associate in Applied Psychology (CAAP) to join our established Psychology team. The team contributes to the care of patients with advanced heart failure and transplantation, adult congenital heart disease, pulmonary hypertension, and complex orthopaedic conditions across a range of nationally commissioned specialist services hosted at NHS Golden Jubilee, including the Scottish National Advanced Heart Failure Service, Scottish Adult Congenital Cardiac Service, and Scottish Pulmonary Vascular Unit amongst others.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to support the development of an innovative national digital psychology service for patients living with cardiac devices, such as implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs). The service will utilise a range of digital solutions, including Near Me and guided digital interventions, to provide accessible psychological support through individual and group-based formats.
Working under the supervision of a clinical psychologist you will contribute to the assessment, formulation and delivery of evidence-based psychological interventions for patients experiencing psychological distress associated with cardiac illness and treatment. You will also play a key role in supporting service development, evaluating outcomes, and helping to shape the delivery of psychologically informed care through digital platforms.
This post offers an excellent opportunity for a qualified CAAP to further develop their skills in specialist health psychology, digital healthcare, and service innovation. The service intends to seek ongoing funding to expand the scope and duration of this work.
