ABOUT THE POSITION
As part of the Global CAD team, the CAD Helpdesk Technician helps ensure efficient and stable operation of Computer Aided Design (CAD) software and related systems for CAD data creators and CAD data consumers by providing support, troubleshooting, issue resolution, and training.
Key Activities & Responsibilities
Perform installation, upgrades, and configuration of CAD related software.
Maintain databases of systems, users, and user permissions.
Identify and resolve CAD user and system issues.
Identify and translate helpdesk trends into recommendations for an improved user experience.
Perform testing to provide recommendations for process and system improvement.
Educate Engineering teams on CAD software improvements and best practices.
Ensure engineering users have adequate hardware system requirements to meet their expected workload and deploy/upgrade hardware.
Support the techniques, tools, and interfaces necessary for downstream consumption of CAD data.
Capable of creating Macros in SOLIDWORKS and Autodesk products
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks.
Function as a liaison between the Global CAD team and other departments to solve problems and work on joint projects.
Be available for after-hours work related to critical outages, data migrations, and off-hours upgrades.
Aggressively support and promote the culture of One ASTEC. Other duties as assigned.
