Role Description The Furniture Designer will design and develop custom furniture pieces that align with Ayawi Designs’ aesthetic and functional standards. This full-time, in office role is based in Bengaluru South and involves working closely with the styling and interior design teams to translate client requirements into detailed design concepts and technical drawings. Day-to-day responsibilities include researching materials and trends, creating 2D/3D design proposals, coordinating with carpenters and vendors,
reviewing prototypes, and ensuring quality and safety standards are met. The role also includes visiting project sites, refining designs based on feedback, and contributing to overall space planning and décor solutions.
Qualifications
Strong skills in Furniture Design and Product Design, including concept development and technical detailing.
Practical understanding of Furniture and Carpentry to collaborate effectively with makers and fabricators.
Knowledge of Interior Design principles to integrate furniture into cohesive, functional spaces.
Proficiency in design software (e.g., CAD tools, SketchUp, or similar) and hand sketching for visual communication.
Relevant diploma or degree in Furniture Design, Product Design, Interior Design, or a related field.
Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
