Role Overview
We are looking for a Trainee / Junior Biomedical Engineer to join our medical device R&D; team and provide the important link between clinical requirements, engineering design and product performance.
The engineer will work with mechanical, electronics, embedded software, quality and manufacturing teams during development, testing and validation of medical devices and equipment. The role is ideal for a candidate who wants hands-on involvement in medical technology development rather than primarily hospital equipment maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
Understand clinical workflows, user requirements and operating environments for medical equipment.
Translate clinical and functional requirements into transparent engineering requirements and test criteria.




Support design, development, integration and evaluation of medical devices and associated subsystems.
Work with sensors, transducers, instrumentation, fluid systems, pumps, valves and physiological or process-monitoring systems as applicable.
Assist engineers during prototype assembly, system integration, verification, validation and troubleshooting.
Develop test protocols and conduct functional, performance, accuracy, reliability and usability testing.
Analyse test data, identify abnormalities and prepare engineering test reports.
Support risk analysis activities including identification of potential hazards, failure modes and mitigation measures.
Assist in preparation and maintenance of product documentation including specifications, verification records, validation records and technical files.
Participate in usability studies and evaluation of devices from an operator, patient and clinical perspective.
