We are seeking a passionate and experienced Associate Manager – Farming to oversee and manage all aspects of agricultural operations across Organo’s eco-habitat communities. The ideal candidate will be committed to sustainable farming, organic practices, and regenerative land use, while also possessing strong leadership and project management skills.
Key Responsibilities
Farm Planning & Management:
Develop and implement annual and seasonal crop plans in line with organic and regenerative principles.
Team Supervision:
Lead and manage a team of farm workers, supervisors, and technical staff, ensuring efficiency and skill development.
Soil & Crop Health:
Conduct regular soil testing, manage composting/vermiculture operations, and implement natural soil enrichment practices.
Irrigation & Water Management:
Oversee productive water usage and irrigation planning using sustainable techniques.
Record Keeping & Reporting:
Maintain accurate logs of farm activities, inputs, yields, pest/disease outbreaks, and provide regular performance reports.
Community Engagement:
Coordinate with community members, stakeholders, and residents to promote awareness and participation in farm activities.
Compliance & Certifications:
Ensure compliance with organic farming standards and help facilitate necessary certifications.
Innovation & Research:
Introduce sustainable innovations, indigenous techniques, and data-driven practices to enhance productivity and soil regeneration.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Agronomy, or related field.
5–8 years of experience in farm management, preferably in organic or sustainable agriculture.
Strong knowledge of regenerative, organic, and biodynamic farming practices.
Experience managing diverse teams and working with rural communities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with farm management software is a plus.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
