Role Description The Reporter role at X-Cape is a full time hybrid position based in Bengaluru, with flexibility for partial work from home. In this role, the reporter will identify newsworthy stories, conduct interviews, gather information from multiple sources, and verify facts to ensure accurate coverage. Day-to-day work includes writing clear and concise news articles, features, and analyses, as well as adapting content for digital platforms and multimedia formats. The reporter will collaborate with editors and other team members to refine story angles, meet deadlines, and maintain editorial standards. The role also involves monitoring current events, attending press briefings or field assignments as needed, and pitching original story ideas aligned with the organization’s editorial priorities.
Qualifications
Strong Reporting skills, including source development, interviewing, and fact-checking.
Excellent Writing and News Writing abilities, with a focus on clarity, accuracy,



and audience engagement.
Effective Communication skills for interacting with sources, colleagues, and stakeholders.
Ability to work with Multimedia formats, such as video, audio, or digital storytelling tools.
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, English, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Demonstrated ability to work under deadlines, prioritize multiple assignments, and adapt to fast-changing news cycles.
Familiarity with digital publishing platforms, social media, and basic SEO principles is beneficial.
Commitment to ethical journalism practices, impartiality, and adherence to editorial guidelines.
Comfort working in a hybrid environment, with the ability to attend in-person assignments in Bengaluru when required.
