Sumo India are looking for Senior Technical Designers to join our growing team of designers focused on building robust and cohesive levels and gameplay experiences for a variety of multi-platform titles, in collaboration with our UK based teams.
As a Senior Technical Designer in the World discipline, you will bridge the gap between Level Design and Engineering. Through application of a solid knowledge of both design theory and technical know-how, you’ll empower other designers to prototype, iterate and implement world and gameplay content efficiently, ensuring that gameplay systems, content, tools and workflows are efficient, scalable, and technically sound. Relevant Skills and Experience
Essential

* Understanding of Technical Design theory,standardsand best practices in the creation of robust systems and gameplay objects, levelstreamingand scripting,appropriate toseniority.
* Demonstrable experience insome form of scripting (visual/text based), or programming languages.
* Experience working with industry‑standard game engines and design tools.




* Fluency in English with excellent communication and feedback skills, both written and verbal.

Desirable

* Professional experience in Game Development, in the field of Technical Design.
* Experience collaborating with outsourced or external development teamsin multiple time-zones.
* A background spanningvaryinggenres such as open world, action-adventure, platforming and/or racing titles
* Familiarity with performance, memory, and technical constraints in world building.
* Knowledge or experience of working with object-oriented programming / languages such as C++

* Implement gameplay content, level systems and LD tools, using visual or text-based scripting.
* Support Level Designers with technical problem-solving and workflow optimisation.
* Translate high-level design intent into technically feasible solutions.
* Build prototypes to help validate ideas quickly.
