Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop mechanical components for power transformers, including internal connections, internal layouts, and tank/external designs.
- Create detailed customer-specific drawings as per requirements and specifications.
- Work closely with the electrical engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility, quality, and timely delivery.
- Ensure that designs adhere to national and international such as IS, CEA, IEC, IEEE, ISO and any applicable regulatory or industry-specific guidelines.
- Regularly review and update design procedures to comply with the latest standards and best practices.
- Use 3D CAD tools (primarily Inventor and Creo) to create accurate and productive mechanical designs, ensuring that all components fit together correctly and function as intended.
- Develop and maintain CAD models, drawings, BOM preparation and documentation (PDM Software) related to transformer designs.
- Work with cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, project managers, and quality assurance teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Provide technical support and guidance to other teams and assist in resolving design-related issues during production or testing phases.
- Travel to customer sites when required to gather requirements, conduct design reviews, or provide technical support during installation and commissioning phases.
Key Requirements:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree / Diploma or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience:
- Proven experience in designing mechanical components for power transformers, with a focus on internal connections, layouts, and external tank designs.
- Experience in customer-specific drawing preparation, ensuring alignment with their technical and regulatory requirements.
- Strong proficiency in using 3D CAD tools such as Inventor or Creo for design and modelling.
