About the Role
Ready to own fundamentals coverage across one of the world's most important base metals markets? We're looking for a Senior Base Metals Analyst to lead coverage from raw materials through to end-use demand. You'll combine production, trade, and consumption data into a single, reliable market view, and use that analysis to inform price forecasts and commentary our audience relies on. It's a highly visible role at the centre of our market intelligence work — and a genuine opportunity to build expertise across the full value chain
What You'll Do
Combine trade data, national production statistics, and supply-side data into a clear, well-reasoned read on the market. Calculate and maintain apparent consumption, aligning supply and demand-side figures into a consistent picture. Track downstream demand, including end-use product consumption, to explain what's driving the market.
Validate data for accuracy, resolving inconsistencies across sources
Maintain a daily model tracking upstream raw material movements
Analyze quarterly production, capacity,



and supply-side developments
Contribute to the team's price forecasting output
Produce clear, well-argued market commentary under time pressure
Partner with analysts, editors, and commercial colleagues to keep coverage consistent
What We're Looking For
Experience in commodity, metals, or data-intensive market analysis, with solid data-handling skills and confidence working with information from multiple sources. Interest in forecasting or forward-looking analysis is a plus. Confident written communication and the ability to deliver commentary under time pressure are essential, along with a team-oriented approach to working across groups.
