Overview
We’re seeking Accountant to join the Accounting and Finance team at symplr. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional with a robust financial accounting background. This is a highly visible role within the organization that will require collaboration across multiple departments and external resources.
Duties & Responsibilities
Own the day-to-day bookkeeping and general ledger for the international entities, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and on time.
Own monthly revenue close procedures, including preparing revenue and deferred revenue journal entries and reconciliations.
Maintain the Fixed Asset Register (FAR), including capitalization, depreciation and reconciliation
Prepare and post monthly journal entries including accruals, prepayments, payroll, and intercompany transactions.
Perform monthly account reconciliations across all balance sheet accounts and resolve open items in a timely manner.
Review & process employee expense claims in line with Company policy
Support internal and external audits by providing schedules, documentation, and required explanations.
Perform other accounting and finance-related responsibilities as assigned
Prepare VAT returns and VAT related compliance for international entities.
Proactively identify opportunities for process automation and improvement to ensure processes are scalable and optimized
Skills Required
Qualifications and Experience:
BCom/ MBA in Finance & Accounting / CA Inter
6+ years of progressive experience in corporate GL accounting
Technical Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft excel and financial reporting tools
Self-starter with a strong work ethic and proactive approach
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred System Knowledge:
NetSuite
SAP Concur
