Role Description The Commi Chef role at Barsana Boutique Hotel is a full-time, on-site position based in Kolkata. This role supports the kitchen team in daily food preparation, including mise en place, basic cooking, and plating under the guidance of senior chefs. The Commi Chef helps maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene, and assists with inventory checks, storage, and organization of ingredients. Responsibilities also include following recipes and kitchen procedures,



ensuring cleanliness of workstations and equipment, and collaborating with colleagues to deliver timely service for the restaurant and banquet operations. The role involves working flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required by hotel operations.
Qualifications
Foundational culinary skills, including basic cooking techniques, knife handling, and familiarity with multi-cuisine preparation.
Knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and proper kitchen sanitation practices.
Ability to follow recipes, portion standards, and plating guidelines accurately and consistently.
Strong teamwork, communication, and time-management skills in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Willingness to learn from senior chefs, adapt to hotel standards, and take feedback constructively.
Prior experience in a hotel or restaurant kitchen is an advantage but not mandatory for motivated learners.
