Business Unit Head – Solar

IDAS Global India is a Back Office / KPO operation supporting business activities in Botswana and Southern Africa. We are looking for an experienced Business Unit Head – Solar to lead our solar business across three key segments:
1. Solar Distribution & Wholesale – sourcing and distribution of solar panels, inverters, batteries and related products from China, India, South Africa, Botswana and neighbouring markets.
2. Solar EPC – commercial and operational support for solar EPC projects from quotation and procurement through execution and commissioning.
3. Solar IPP – support development and execution of independent power producer and long-term energy projects.
The successful candidate will take overall responsibility for sales, business development, procurement, supplier management, project execution, commercial performance and team coordination.
We are looking for someone who can grow the business, win projects,



negotiate with suppliers and customers, manage margins and ensure successful project delivery.
Key Requirements
8–15+ years of relevant experience, preferably in solar or renewable energy
Solid experience in Solar EPC, distribution, procurement and/or business development
Knowledge of solar panels, inverters, batteries and electrical systems
Strong commercial, negotiation and supplier-management skills
Experience with international sourcing, preferably China, India or South Africa
Ability to manage project costing, margins, timelines and execution
Strong leadership and team-management capability
Willingness to work approximately 6 months in India and 6 months in Botswana
Experience in African or Southern African markets will be an advantage
Ideal current titles: Solar Business Head, General Manager – Solar, Head of Solar EPC, Commercial Head – Solar, or Solar Business Development Head.
